Still so little time..

It's either I have really bad time management but I really dun have time to squeeze in for blogging...

Anyway, I will still do my best! Hmm.... since Bangkok, the next destination I travelled to is Batam. My first nite stay here although I do recommend that it is not really necessary, unless you get a 5 star hotel at corporate rate.

Holiday Inn is definitely one of the best. Unfortunately, it takes us 30 mins to get to town or any nearest mall or supermarket. It is really self-sufficient. The pool looks inviting doesn't it.

The spa is an award-winning one - The Tea Tree Spa. Unfortunately, the spa which i really wanted to go was Winspa. They were ssssoooo Good! that they are fully-booked for the entire month of Dec. (See Felicia, this is what I mean by word spreads fast!!) I actually tried calling them and booking them through email but it is again... Unfortunate that their lines were down... probably due to the poor weather. It was raining half the time during our trip there. Forget to tell that I went with my classmates from SIM. A real great lot of spotting and amazing adults! (The results are out sooon!)

My... must I say that their seafood is not as good as Singapore. I was introduced to these seafood restaurant called 933 Golden Prawn. Not only was the prawns not golden, they were the size of my pinky finger. Yuck! But our craving for seafood was sooooo overwhelming that Stan, Jeanne and hubby, Jenny, Olaf , Jo, myself n my bf proceeded to Pasir Panjang for bbq seafood. LOL!!

While I have been gone ..... from Blogging

While I have been gone....

I was running after the books and completing my assignments. And yes! how glad I am that it is all over now but it is time for the ..... EggsHams!!! I am approximately 17 days away so will be hitting the book again.... Sigh!

While I have been gone from blogging....

I was away in Bangkok with my colleagues for the "once in 10 years" offsite. I have to say that I am really privileged to be able to go for this all expense (except shopping $$) paid trip. This trip is significantly different from all my previous trips..

Diana and I on the plane - AirAsia

We played Amazing Race (Citi-styled). It was really well-organized. Kudos to the RMs of team 1 (CML, LL -sad to see u go, TWK, PC, LT) I mean they did not just gave the locations outrightly, they even had to come up with riddles or historic clues and we had to guess the locations. It was really tough. The first game already racked our brains from only 4 hrs of sleep from the previous night. Some only had an hr or so, after clubbing the first night away. These RMs really know how to have fun and not waste any time (esp if lodging and airfare is subsidised). The first game is "Good is Good and Bad is Bad". Similar to the game, behind the "Green Glass Door". (An e.g Gucci is good but Dior is bad, Jogging is good but walking is bad and the list goes on) Get it!!!!??? If you get it, give me 2 examples

Linda, Lorraine and me outside the hotel lobby. Nice garden!

First location for AR is Lumphini Park, the riddle was a historic one (I hate history!) To find this location was a pretty ingenius experience. After clearing the first game, we just hop into a cab and frantically referred to the map's information to find the first location. My team was torn between 2 places. We resorted to asking the cab driver. He was confused by our "trying to speak thai" descriptions (King Rama..born...place...flowers..trees..buddha...), immediately, he took the piece of paper from our hands that wrote the riddle and stopped his cab at the bus stop in front of the Technological University of Bangkok. Got off the cab and ask the students! Ingenius right!!! Without saying further, we got to our 1st location correctly.

The first to the second location was easy. It was the 4 face buddha in town. After which, we went against the rules of the game to have lunch and shop at Central World Plaza. The mall has been renovated. This means, new shops and higher prices. However, not fully occupied yet. It is the location that has the largest Naraya boutique. It is a must-go if you need to get the latest Naraya products!! I bought over 2,000 bht of items (oops!)

Dainel, Gwen, Andrew and me at the four face buddha! Ah me tou fu!

Third location had an interesting journey, though it is the journey that I always take to CHINATOWN! By train and then by boat! But this time, there was no shopping coz time was against us but we had bird's nest after the exasperating experience of finding the 3rd location. We were too tired and just found a substitute... why? because we were supposed to find a goddess - Ming Goddess to be exact! in CHINATOWN!!! There are like thousands of Gods and Goddess there. See the substitute

The bird's nest was heavenly, together with Gingko nuts and iced-cold chrysanthemum tea! Check out the shark's fin too!

A sumptuous dinner at IndoChine!

Of course, most importantly, thai massage at Health Land, South Sathorn... OOOOoooohhhh!

It has been some time...

It's National Day. Time really flies, still remember last year when I was still in the Teaching Service. I can remember last year's theme well...It was "Home". The reason I could remember was coz I was teaching it to my 3 music classes. This year... what is the theme song ah??

Hmm.. time to reflect on the stuff I have accomplished so far.. till date. Like Felicia's blog, we actually went to M'sia on a friday and Batam on Saturday. We took half day leave on Friday to enjoy an earlier weekend and made a trip to JB. It was my dar's only vacation before he starts at OCBC and he was kind enough to drive it. Thanks to Dave for offering to swap vehicles. Dar.. well done on your first drive into JB, we didn't get lost!

Batam was really eventful. See Felicia's pictures, she took everything, even the slums! The best part of the Spa. OMG, it is really cheap! For SGD25, you can get the entire package of massage, steam, scrub, bath soak and anti-wind treatment. All in Balinese style! Service was also very good. Although A&W is gone in S'pore, just take a 1 hr trip to Batam, they have it there. Root beer float in an iced cold mug... heaven!

Sales and Service Rally this month, celebrating success for July, was held at New Asia Bar at the Equinox. It is truly a great place to hang out and get drunk at 70 storeys... must be really HIGH!!! Check out the view...

Awwww....

Just another lazy Sunday. Wanted to go swimming but the weather didn't allow it. Hence stayed home and started this blog and uploaded pics. And like every Sunday, I will make my faithful trip to Gran's place. Check out the Farm!!!

2nd generation of Guinea Pigs (Erika's brood) That's Panda!

2nd generation of 4 hamsters. The second brood of the 2nd generation of another 4 were born just a couple of days ago. There's an overpopulation!!

070707

what a Day!

It was Mich's wedding day and it started off with a heavy downpour. It's both great and terrible (sorry, michelle! :P) Great coz the weather's cool and mich won't need to sweat in her gown, terrible coz... it was a Great Weather to sleep IN! Fel also fell on her way to church (That rhymes! LOL) Her bruise was pretty big.. See!

It was a lovely wedding, though I must say.. the video was sweet and funny about how they met.. but it was not like that (rite, mich?) The dinner proposal was really sweet and touching, just as how mich told me and Fel over dinner.

The fixation over 070707 was really huge. Had to choose one wedding over another (Sorry, bro-Aylwin!) Mich, where did u get the car man! (XXX 7777X) Traffic was slow in town too, plus with the NDP rehearsal. Is it going to be the same next year? (080808) We'll see about that.

Wear green to support Earth Day.. erm hardly saw pple on the streets in green though. But must I say, Mich.. you really supported Earth Day! Green gown on her second walk in! The decor in the ballroom was earthly too! Comment given by her ex-classmate cum joker of the table -Jon! (why did u invite him, chelle?) was pretty nasty :P But he was great company and thank goodness, michelle put us at the corner! Laughs the whole nite through
